A gamma ray burst from a nearby celebrity might clean over the Solar System and wipe out all life in the world. Since gamma rays take a trip at the speed of light, we practically absolutely wouldn’t see it coming. A lot more terrifying, our region of the universe might enter into a hypothetical state called Higgs degeneration. In this situation, the Higgs area responsible for the mass of fundamental particles would basically turned off, and matter as we understand it would cease to exist. And naturally, we could all be residing in a simulation that will be shut off. It sounds like the universe has it out for us, right?
